Sew a roll-up toiletries bag: free sewing pattern

Linda Barker has come up with this funky idea, for mums to do with teenagers, to celebrate the reformulation of Fanta orange.
Carry your toiletries in style with this brightly coloured roll-up bag to keep all your favourite smellies safe whether at home or on your travels. This funky toiletry bag is easy to make and gives you lots of pockets to fit all of your favourite cosmetic products.
You will need
● 2 pieces of 60cm x 30cm colourful fabrics, different patterns if possible
● 1 piece of soft wadding or interlining (optional - it makes a softer bag if you use it)
● 60cm x 22cm piece of orange chiffon
● 180cm x 4cm colourful binding for the edge of the bag
● 2 ties made from chiffon 30cm and 60cm long, made from 38x5cm and 60x5cm strips of chiffon
● 5 orange buttons
● 5 button loops cut from 7x2cm strips chiffon
● scraps of fabric to create toggles for the ties
Cut the fabric, wadding and chiffon to size. Be careful because the chiffon is quite tricky to cut. Try ironing it flat to begin with to stiffen it slightly.
Place the two colourful fabrics together with the patterned/colourful sides facing out and place the wadding 'sandwich style' inside these two fabrics.
Sew a line of stitches around the edge of the fabric sandwich, leaving a seam allowance of 1cm.
Use a zigzag stitch to finish the raw edges along one long edge of the chiffon pocket. Sew a striped ribbon along this edge.
Place the chiffon over the interior fabric, ribbon edge neatly across the inside of the bag, and pin in position. Mark the pockets on the plastic using a light pencil, keeping the lines perfectly straight with a ruler. Use lots of pins to secure the chiffon onto the inner lining fabric and sew along the pencil lines to create the pockets. Trim the seams to an equal width of 1cm.
Stitch the fabric loops and ties by sewing the fabric strips into long 'tubes' of fabric, then push the tubes through to the rights side using a knitting needle or the blunt end of a skewer. Take care to sew the loops in particular, as narrowly as possible.
Pin the ties onto the centre of one narrow side of the bag, keeping both ties together, facing inwards towards the centre of the bag and aligning the raw edges of the ties with the raw edges of the bag. (Pin the ties centrally on the bag to keep these out of the way while sewing the binding as they have a habit of getting caught up in the binding stitches.)
Pin the binding onto the front of the bag, right sides facing, and sew, leaving a 1cm seam. Press the binding inwards over its stitched seam and turn to the inside of the bag to cover all raw edges. Turn the raw edge of the binding under by a couple of millimetres, iron and pin the binding edge closed, then stitch closed to create a neat edge to the bag.
Press everything carefully with a warm iron.
Sew fabric toggles onto the ends of the ties using small scraps of fabric.
Hand-sew on the orange buttons and the button loops to finish.
Roll up the toiletry bag and tie the bag closed.
