Sew an outdoor tablecloth: free sewing pattern

Tablecloth on table outside

We used seven tea towels for our tablecloth. Unpick or cut off the hems all around the edge of each tea towel and cut one in half across the width. Lay out the tea towels in two strips as shown in diagram. Pin and stitch them together along the short sides, taking 1cm seam allowances. Neaten seam allowances and press them open. Pin and stitch the two strips together. Neaten seam allowances and press them open. Press under 5mm then 1cm all around outer edge of the tablecloth. Pin and stitch. Press.

Tip: Measure your table top to work out how many tea towels you need to cover it.
