Sew personalised Christmas sacks: free sewing pattern

Christmas sacks

To make: Cut two 60cm x 50cm rectangles of plain fabric and two 40cm x 50cm rectangles of gingham fabric.

Draw initial in reverse on Bondaweb. Iron onto reverse of another piece of gingham and cut out. Position initial on one plain rectangle, 17cm up from the lower edge and iron on.

Zigzag-stitch around edge of initial. With right sides facing, stitch the two plain rectangles together at sides and base taking 1cm seam allowances.

Turn right side out and press. Stitch sides of gingham rectangles together, taking 1cm seam allowances. Press seams open. Fold in half with right sides outside and insert in sack. Matching side seams, stitch gingham band to top edge of sack taking 1cm seam allowances. Neaten edges. Fold band to right side.
