Clarins celebrate in style at Claridges Hotel
Its not every day you get a shimmery red invite to a Clarins party, so I count myself lucky that I had the pleasure to attend the 25th anniversary of its fragrance Eau Dynamisante this week. As if that wasnt enough, this is also the tenth year they are celebrating the most Dynamisante woman (see what they did there?) in the UK.
And so to Claridges Hotel. The ballroom and entrance were filled with beautiful orange trees creating a wonderful aroma then I noticed they had also attached bottles of Eau Dynamisante to the branches of every plant. Beautiful!
After the Courtin-Clarins brothers explained the history of both the fragrance and the award, they had a surprise for all the previous Dynamisante winners, presenting them with a cheque to celebrate the anniversary and continue their charitable works.
But on to the main award - this years winner, former Big Brother TV producer Lucy Buck, was presented with the beautiful Most Dynamisante Woman of the Year Award along with a whopping £30,000 cheque. Lucy gave up her career in TV to start the Childs i Foundation in Uganda. The organization has worked with the Ugandan government to create an adoption scheme to help find loving families for abandoned children.
With over 100 children resettled in the past two years, the money given by Clarins will help Lucy train a further 10 social workers and continue to make a difference in these childrens lives. For more information on the work of the foundation visit the website at www.childsifoundation.org.
