Winter fashion 2013: Gok Wan at Sainsbury's

Gok Wan has launched his autumn winter fashion collection for Tu at Sainsbury’s. We choose our favourite figure-flattering buys

by Bernadette Fallon

What a gorgeous way to show off your curves! And the flattering cut of this pencil skirt will create a feminine silhouette, whatever your shape. Great for your workwear wardrobe or a dressed-up night out, team with a chic long-sleeved blouse, or cross-over style top that is very forgiving and perfectly styled to hide any lumps or bumps. Forget boyfriend jeans and slouchy shapes, this is grown-up fashion to make an impact.

Black long-sleeved Quilted Shoulder Blouse £25 and Textured Ponte skirt £30, Wrap Blouse £25 and Check Godet Pencil skirt £30; all sizes 8 to 22

The 'Grace Kelly shift dress' showcases another very flattering cut from Gok – his new collection is all about beautifully detailed fabrics and figure-enhancing styles and this dress combines both. Keep it simple for casual chic or add stylish evening accessories for a night out.

Shift Dress £45, sizes 8S to 22R

Clever tailoring is at the heart of this range – this stomach skimming top offers the perfect cover-up without draping you in folds of fabric which will only make you look bigger. The pleated detailing at the back is an eye-catching feature, sleeves are a flattering three-quarter length to hide upper arms while showing off a flash of wrist – it’s a great going-out top, the beauty is in the detail.

Pleated Back Blouse £25, sizes 8 to 22

We love this dramatic cape top. With a nod to this season’s masculine tailoring, its slim proportions won’t swamp your frame in fat-adding fabric. Tactile and soft to the touch – you could brave it with bare arms this winter, but we suggest wearing a long-sleeved cotton top or soft thermal t-shirt underneath.

Cape £28, sizes S,M, L, XL
