ESPA summer leg treatment

A great way to pamper your legs just in time for the summer holidays

by Harriet Edgar

Summertime for me signals the imminent panic that I will have to reveal my pasty legs, and be compared to the ready-bronzed and cellulite-free legs walking past me. So I was interested to hear that ESPA has created a quick summer leg treatment that fits into a lunch break, to prepare legs for the annual reveal.

In Liberty London's spa room, complete with the music of panflutes, dimmed lighting and the promise of sleek legs, I was happy to lie down and let the trained beauty assistant work her magic on me. But a word of warning: declare any cuts or bruises to your legs before starting - I had to explain my bruise from a battle with a spinning bike the previous day...

The process includes a vigorous brush down to improve circulation, with a targeted massage around problem areas, a salt scrub to banish dead skin cells and a nourishing lotion to finish. I felt their specially-designed products revitalised my legs to a nice subtle glow. It's also great to note that the re-formulation of the range means there is no more artificial nonsense - all is free from synthetic colour, fragrance and parabens.

It’s been a few hours since I had the pleasure of the summer leg treatment and I can safely say my legs are still pleasantly soft and moisturised, fully ready for the summer weather. Shame about my choice of wearing a maxi dress where they are currently hidden though!

The new ESPA collection and summer leg treatment is available from ESPA online, nationwide spas, Liberty of London and select Harvey Nichols stores
