I've just bought this gorgeous roof lantern for our kitchen. I’ve been window-shopping for weeks but just yesterday, I bit the bullet and splashed out and bought a super contemporary roof light. It is absolutely lovely and comes ready assembled to be lifted into place. It should - hopefully - look just like this one pictured here.

The new windows are also ordered. We've opted for powder-coated aluminium bi-folds and French doors and UPVC everywhere else. I am now £12k poorer. What a shame it couldn’t all go on the credit card – just think of all those lovely Clubcard points I could have earned?

The kitchen interior is next. The plans are being tweeked and I am trying to decide between Corian and Silestone worktops. Both are lovely and there's not much difference in price. Is there anyone out there who has managed to stain Corian? I’d be interested to know if it’s possible?
