One month into the ‘decommission garden jungle’ project and I’ve had to turn my attention inside my new flat (just two and a half months old in my life, over 100 in its own). My friend and gardening expert Polly, who is engaged in the task of taming the jungle, is on holiday.
So while I’m waiting for more piles of rubble to be uncovered – and that family of bears to be finally discovered – I’m doing up the sitting room. It’s a really nice space with high ceilings, ornate cornicing, a picture rail and a big bay window, but was a bit useless up until last week as I was minus anywhere to sit. Then my sofa – pictured – arrived.
The Freya sofa is currently one of the best-selling sofas at DFS, designed by our very own House Beautiful. You can see why it sells so well. Lovely clean lines and generously sized, the cushions are plush yet firm, so while it’s soft, it doesn’t plunge you to the floor in a tangle of knees and elbows as soon as you sit back on it.
This is the 3-seater (currently on sale at £679) and I went for the sofa-bed option (£849). It also comes in 2 and 4-seater options, a corner sofa, lounger, swivel chair, armchair and footstools - see them all here. But best of all is the repayment option, over as many months as you want to stretch it - up to 4 years – which means that I am paying back just £20 a month for 36 months. With no added interest! Which is exceptionally lucky. With all the expense of moving into a new place, I could have been sitting on the floor for the foreseeable future without this option.
