Were changing a three-bedroom house into a four-bedroom with an extra bathroom and a big square landing.
Take a quick look around our house - and see our plans. Here's how we got on this week...
Ive have agonised over my new kitchen design and quite frankly everyone has had enough of me wittering about about whether the sink is in the right place and will it look wow enough. Let's be honest, it can't look any worse than it does currently.
The design has taken 3 months to get right, I am on my third set of edits but this week I finally cracked it. My lovely kitchen designer has been very patient and I am now (nervously) waiting for the quote. Im not sure if I did the right thing. Instead of walking into the shop and telling them what I had to spend, I let them design the kitchen of my dreams. Was that wise? Im now worried I cant afford what I want.
Ive picked a simple Shaker style door in a yummy taupe and combined it with some character oak. Picking a work surface is harder as there is so much choice so Im now off home with the door samples to check out how they look in different lights.
Fingers crossed I can get the kitchen I want for the £14k budget that I have. As Ive discovered, there are deals to be done with everyone so perhaps my ability to barter is about to be tested.Editorial assistant on allaboutyou; Music lover, travel bee and food fanatic.
