Items uncovered in the garden this week:
A plastic sword (presumably dropped during Puss in Boots' adventures - see last week's garden haul)
Enough hunks of stone to recreate the Acropolis in Croydon
It's amazing what you can do with two people in three days. After just 30 man-hours last week, a vast tract of garden has now been cleared. While I still can't see to the back of it to establish the possible existence of a family of bears, now more than half of the garden is bramble free.
But sadly not stone free. Part of what looked like an innocent mound of brambles was actually a mound of earth-covered stones. It looks like somebody dismantled a small stone building in the garden and then just left it there - er, hello?
So this week begins the process of digging out the stones. And deciding what to do with them.
Thanks to @CroydonGardener on Twitter for the clever suggestion of using the stones to build raised beds in the garden. And to Alison on Facebook who suggested I use them for a rockery.
I'm also finding great inspiration from a couple of House Beautiful garden makeovers; these people encountered the rubble problem also (!) - Diary of a garden - while this beautiful garden has lots of great planting advice.
All further suggestions welcome.
Anyone want to buy a truck-load of stones?

Week 2 - er, is this how far we've got ....?
