When I became an aunt a few years ago I was delighted that, after years of wanting children, I finally had a child-related title. (And pretty handy being able to hand them back to parents when, half-crazed with sugar and high energy playtime, things threaten to get out of hand on the hysterics front).

I love the fact I get birthday cards dedicated to my aunted-ness but - taking it a step further - wouldn't it be great if aunts had a 'day', in the same way that mothers and fathers have one?
