I never thought I'd hear myself say this but I like this detox diet and am really enjoying having a bit of a mind and body cleanse. Because:
1. I appreciate food more and savour every bite. When I could eat whatever I wanted, I didn't think as much about what I was eating, just crammed it all in. Now that I have to plan every meal carefully, each one is more of an occasion.
2. I look forward eagerly to every meal. Yesterday I found myself carrying a small bowl of nuts and dried fruit in semi reverence to my desk - it was time for my snack and I was happy!
3. I've discovered the joy of juicing. I've never tasted any juice as good as that I've been making this week. I knew I was hooked when I got in after the spa last night and thought, I'll just whizz up a quick carrot and apple. And cleaned the juicer after. It was midnight.
4. I have lots more energy. See above.
5. I've tried different foods and discovered new tastes so that, oddly, instead of my diet being restricted, it's become more varied.
6. Almond milk rocks in porridge!

Not convinced but want a juicer? I got mine at John Lewis and paid £69 for a basic model, which does the job fine. They also stock other brands including Kenwood, Magimix and KitchenAid - see their online offers here
