Detox diet day 4: massage and Koi Carp

Body brushing this morning - recommended to help lymph system get rid of the toxins that collect below the skin. I smell a bit weird today - is it the toxins coming out? Or am I just starting to smell like a vegetable?

Because it's day 4 and I've moved onto the second stage of the cleanse - the 'pre-purification' phase - I'm now up to 9 supplements and a tablespoon of linseed every morning. I've worked out that the capsules are easier to swallow if I take a few blueberries between each one. Clearly my throat can't predict what's coming next - capsule or berry - and is less inclined to gag. I feel a bit tired this morning. I hope there won't be any wailing.

So it's a brilliant time to have booked myself into the Sanctuary Spa in Covent Garden; both massage and steaming are recommended during the cleanse to help flush out toxins. I have the new Sanctuary Spa Therapies treatment (£75) - a back massage while I'm lying on my back - bizarre!- though as I'm lying on a heated water pouch, I'm too comfortable to think much about it. It's good and deep around the shoulders and eases all the tension in my neck and head. And I have one of my tastiest meals so far in the Koi Carp lounge - all running water and pools and smug-looking Koi Carp - a platter of 'allowed' foods like hummus, chick peas and crudites.

And for the second time this week I waft home in blissed-out state of relaxation. Wailing? Not even a murmur.
