Our quirky toadstool pincushion is so fun and cute you’re just going to have to stitch it.

Stitch time: 12 hours

 Materials

• 25-count putty-coloured evenweave, 20x25cm
• Calico backing fabric, 14x18cm
• Stuffing

Step 1

Trim your stitched piece leaving just 2cm of excess around the entire shape. Cut a piece of calico backing fabric to the exact same shape.

Step 2

With right sides together, pin and stitch around the entire shape either by hand or using a sewing machine. Leave an opening for turning.

Step 3

Cut notches in the excess fabric all the way round the shape. This will give the finished shape a smoother look. Stuff until firm and slip stitch closed.
