Machine-embroider a handmade card

Heart card

To make

Draw a heart onto Bondaweb and iron to the reverse of your chosen fabric.

Cut out heart and lightly iron in place on a blank card. Set your machine up for free embroidery (read how here). You don’t need interfacing or a hoop to embroider onto card.

Embroider freely around the outline of the heart twice. Don’t worry if the stitching is not perfect – slight irregularities add to the charm.

Tip: When ironing fabric shapes onto card, place a piece of muslin or similar over the top to prevent marking the card with the iron.
