In 90 seconds a sock is born!

Well, two socks actually - yes, I've made my very first pair and here they are coming off the needles

by Carol Muskoron

It has taken me years to knit these - and coming to the end felt like such a major achievement that I got a colleague to film it (see below). After knitting one sock, I was shattered. And I have met several one-sock wonders, who never bothered knitting their second. I am now a two-sock wonder. And would I knit another pair? Yes. Would I attempt to knit a pair of gloves? Er, no. Did I celebrate my sock success with vodka cocktail? Oh yes!

The pattern for these came as part of a kit. Find our top 10 knitting kits here. Fancy trying your hand at cable socks? Check out our free cable socks pattern.

Please forgive me for the chipped nail varnish - I lead a stupidly busy life.
