The coronation royal baby picnic... for republicans?!

Picnic recipes you'll want to know about whether you're a fan of the royal family or not

by Carol Muskoron

Royal fervour is running relatively high at the moment, with the Coronation Festival at Buckingham Palace about to kick off this weekend, and with the birth of the royal baby imminent. But I recognise that not all of our readers are royalists, and so I have put together a relatively non-royalist picnic menu that I hope will suit everyone, with a 'republicans look away' warning by the slightly more royal recipes in case they offend...

Smoked salmon and asparagus tarts

Classic mustard and potato salad

The Pimm's with summer fruits cocktail

Traditional pork pies

Short scones

Republicans look away...

Jubilee strawberries

Red, white and blue cupcakes

Union Jack sponge cake

Coronation chicken

And here are two gorgeous picnic nibbles of note...

Good4u Chilli Seed Mix - fabulous sprinkled on any salad. Sunshine olives with rosemary and garlic - just scrumptious. Happy picnicking everyone!
