Knitted veg of the week: tomato

A wild creation, free knitting patterns plus some fabulous recipes

by Carol Muskoron

I promised to knit an aubergine next but the tomato seduced me - I mean, look at it! I used chenille wool to get that tomato-ish sheen. I should have stood the stalk up for the picture, but I hope you can see how fabulously accurate it is. Everyone who comes round is asking me about them - even the blokes: my carpenter has been asking if there's a pattern for a parsnip. And there is! Am using patterns from Knitted Vegetables - my favourite book of the moment.
