Share the secrets of celebrity detox diets: loving lemons

Beyonce Knowles - Detox divas - Diet&wellbeing - allaboutyou.com

Beyoncé (left) followed the Master Cleanse, or Lemon Detox Diet, to lose 20lbs in 14 days for her role in 'Dreamgirls', drinking maple syrup, cayenne pepper and lemon juice.

Beyoncé's methods may seem a little extreme, but lemons are a celebrity’s best friend for neutralising, cleansing and kick starting digestion.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell keeps her body in top shape with a regular detox. The 44-year-old diva says of her thrice-yearly diet: 'I try to do this Lemon Detox Diet three times a year. It's good to just clean out your body once in a while.'

'Interstellar' actress Anne Hathaway is a devoted fan of New York City based trainer David Kirsch's LemonAid plan, and does the detox for two days before she hits the red carpet. The 32-year-old Oscar winner drinks a fortified pink lemonade drink; detoxifying her liver with milk thistle and giving her that A list glow.

And model, businesswoman and all round health guru Miranda Kerr swears by a lemon water start to the day. 'My morning routine starts with water and lemon,' says the 31-year-old beauty. 'It really helps to kick start the digestion and it also cleanses the body and boosts your immune system and lemons are rich in vitamins.'

Who else? Jennifer Aniston, Pink, Heidi Klum, Ashton Kutcher and Jared Leto.
