Green is for go in Hollywood. Not a week passes without a tweet from a celebrity sucking on a green juice the colour of pond water, in order to stay fresh and revitalised.

Green juices vary hugely in their nutritional value, depending on what is included, but it is a great way to get your five-a-day all in one shot.

Aussie beauty Miranda Kerr shares the secrets of her 'power smoothie', which she describes as, 'alkalising, nutrient dense and high in vitamins and minerals'. Take the water of a fresh coconut,
 ½ a glass of almond or goat's milk, 1 tbsp of açai powder, 1 tbsp of goji berries, 1 tbsp of spirulina, 1 tbsp of raw cacao powder, 1 tbsp of maca powder, 1 tbsp of chia seeds and 1 tbsp of raw vegan protein powder. Just whizz up and enjoy!

Black Eyed Peas star Fergie has introduced juicing into her household. The 39-year-old singer relies on the green stuff to keep her energy levels up. 'I do juicing when I wake up and between meals,' she reveals. 'The energy it gives me is amazing - I hardly need caffeine any more. We blend kale, spinach, broccoli and celery with a banana, and apple and a pear.'

She always looks red-carpet-ready, and the secret behind actress Salma Hayek's (left) sexy skin is her devotion to Cooler Cleanse juices. 'I've been doing juice cleanses for 15 years,' she says. 'If I've been indulging in rich foods, a cleanse is a wonderful way to hit the reset button. My skin glows when I finish day three. And it inspires me to think about what I put in my body.'
