Watch this video - you could save a life

Give just six seconds of your time

by Adrienne Wyper

Make a really worthwhile New Year resolution, one that could save a life.

Each year in the UK 92,000 people suffer a heart attack, and a third of those die as a result. St John Ambulance has launched a campiagn to help reduce that number. Learn to recognise the four symptoms of a heart attack, aka the four Ps.

WHAT ARE THE FOUR P'S?

PAIN (in the chest)

PULSE (rapid or weak)

PERSPIRATION

PALE SKIN

Sue Killen, CEO of St John Ambulance says: ‘We want to give people the chance to make an achievable – and potentially life saving - New Year’s resolution. Help us reduce heart attack deaths by watching our quick steps on how to spot a heart attack, and share it with your friends. We hope it isn’t but this could be the year you need to use it.’

Did you know? A heart attack and a cardiac arrest are not the same: a cardiac arrest is when the person stops breathing and needs resuscitation.

Watch this video, from St John Ambulance, and share this page with your friends...
