An emergency foodie phone call for St George's Day!

Five gorgeous English food products to be on the lookout for - plus some fabulous English recipes

by Carol Muskoron

It's St George's Day on Tuesday, and I've just called our clever food consultant, Emma Marsden, to ask her the name the five best English food products that might make a difference to our lives! So here, in no particular order, are five English food gems...

Colston Bassett Stilton
EMMA'S SAYS: 'It's really creamy. I had it all through my chidhood and it's fabulous on toast.'

English Provender Co Horseradish
EMMA'S SAYS: 'This is so nice - and you can't have roast beef without it!'

Nye Timber wine
EMMA'S SAYS: 'A classic sparkling wine that's as good as French champagne!'

Denhay Farm Bacon
EMMA'S SAYS: 'Dry cured, with no water added, all the flavour stays in when you cook this bacon, and it crisps up really nicely.'

Badger Beer
EMMA'S SAYS: 'These come in such lovely flavours. I adore the peach. It's perfect for summer.'
