Cheryl is a lover of soft, sexy tousled waves. And this year her look has been bang on trend; classic, sleek and not too overdone. Nailing the ‘bronde’ colour hue of the moment, the subtle blend of brown to blonde looks gorgeously glam and perfect paired with her loose, weightless waves.
Get the look:
1) Find your side parting, apply some volumising, root boosting mouse and apply through damp hair before blow drying. Try Moroccanoil Root Boost, £18.85, www.lookfantastic.com
2) Use rollers to section off three main sections at the top of the head to create volume and bounce.
3) Finger dry the rest of the hair, then use a thick curling wand like Cloud Nine’s Waving Wand, £99.99, www.cloudninehair.com to create the desired wave effect.
4) Remove rollers, the hair should now have a natural wave but you can finish off with the wand if you’d like a more precise curl.
5) Spritz with a firm-hold hairspray, et voila – effortless tousled tresses à la Mrs Fernandez-Versini.

Kate’s perfectly coiffed bouncing locks always appear effortlessly groomed and glossy. A stickler for sticking to tradition, we are used to seeing Kate’s cascading curls in much the same style, but very recently we’ve seen her signature do switched up to a preppy ponytail. Still incorporating her voluminous waves, this simple up-do is the perfect update for long wavy hair, and is so easy to recreate.
Get the look:
1) Create a side parting with a comb and take two thick sections from the front of the hair and tuck behind your ears or clip aside.
2) Take a piece of hair from the crown and start to gently back comb, adding lots of volume.
3) Use the clipped front sections to gently brush over the messy beehive section of the hair.
4) Pull the hair back into a ponytail then take a small section of hair from the ponytail to wrap around the hair band. Clip together with hair grips.
5) Spritz the hair with a glossing finishing hairspray like Paul Mitchell’s freeze and shine super spray, £18.45, www.lookfantastic.com

A pioneer in the celeb fashion and beauty world, Emma Watson has never been afraid of experimenting with her style. From pixie crops to dazzling up-dos, her hairstyles have always been striking and unique. Another favourite in the hairstyle stakes, this year Emma’s brunette barnet is a little on the longer side, but here, sporting sleek side swept curls and statement red lipstick, she really shows how to work the vintage Hollywood siren look with ease.
Get the look:
1) Apply Moroccanoil Root Boost, £18.85, www.lookfantastic.com to damp hair.
2) Use a large barrel brush to blowdry the hair – try to create as much volume as possible.
3) Curl segments of hair using a barrel wand starting from the ear and move downwards. Alternate the curls in a clockwise and anti-clockwise motion, then pin the curls using hair grips.
4) As you go along, unpin the sections and gently pull fingers through the hair.
5) Then for the side sweep, brush the section of the hair from left to right, making sure that you avoid the waves. Finish with a spritz of firm-hold glossing hairspray.
