Isn't modern technology marvellous?

When it works...

by Adrienne Wyper

Last week, to let you all know that I would be covering the Chelsea Flower Show, I published a taster, suggesting that you might like to follow me on Twitter, as I'd be tweeting from the Show this morning, with celebrity sightings and more.

However, the numbers of journalists, show staff, exhibitors and guests at the Show, all keen to share what they saw, were evidently too much for Twitter to take.

My first tweet, about Christopher Biggins asking me where he could collect his ticket, refused to send. I tried again and again for a couple of hours, but nothing doing.

So here's what you should have read...

Sir Bruce Forsyth (left) looking comfortable in front of the camera...Sir Cliff Richard being polite after a photo request but saying he'd been there two hours and had only seen three gardens...Ricky Gervais discussing the Korean Quiet Time: DMZ Forbidden Garden with its creators...Esther Rantzen watching the discussion, in a zingy lemon coat...Diarmuid Gavin chasing a cameraman... Antonio Carluccio putting his feet up next to the Celebration of Caravanning Garden...Michael Caine strolling past the Lands' End garden, saying he'd stroll back to have his photo taken shortly...Trevor McDonald beside the World Vision Garden...Max Hastings and Sophie Raworth (separately) admiring the Homebase Teenage Cancer Trust Garden...John Hurt was affable, sporting a cute beard, by The Telegraph Garden...

And a visit to Chelsea wouldn't be complete with spotting Alan Titchmarsh, next to the M&G Garden...

And talking of technology, if you've heard about the QR Code Garden, read more on it here.
