If you love food, culture and top hotels, I may just have found you the perfect London night out at One Aldwych, one of London's swankiest hotels.

Having teamed up with the Royal Opera House, One Aldwych is hosting the live relay screenings of operas and ballets in its 30-seat cinema. For just £75 you can have a fabulous three-course dinner whilst people-watching at the chic mezzanine restaurant at One Aldwych, before being handed a glass of Champagne and escorted to the fantastically cute and very comfortable cinema.

I'm a real fan of the Royal Opera House live screenings which are broadcast all over the world. And I expect more and more beautiful venues will create space for cinemas in which to host such screenings. The Live Screenings are a real treat, taking you behind the scenes at the Royal Opera House and giving you real insight into the work of ballet and opera stars.

The two highlights of the my night at One Alwdych were my broccoli and cheese soup (wonderfully warming) and the evil Carabosse (pictured) putting her spell on the poor baby Princess Aurora (wonderfully chilling). Tchaikovsky’s score was as delightful as ever, of course.

This is a great way to splash out on a bit of luxury in London, at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.
