Make simple charm earrings

Charm earrings

To make

Choose fishhook ear wires with a loop in silver or gold to match your chosen charms. Our butterfly and heart charms have a loop at the top. For this style of charm, gently bend open the loop of the ear wire using pliers and slide the charm into place. Then gently close the loop. Our enamelled oval charms have a centre-drilled hole. For this style of charm, create a loop by using a head pin (see below) then attach to ear wires as before.

How to use a head pin

Thread your bead or charm onto a head pin. Trim the wire of the head pin 1cm above the bead or charm using wire cutters. Bend this wire to form a right angle as close to the top of the charm as possible. Using round nose pliers, shape the end of the wire into a loop, making sure the loop is completely closed and sits centrally above the charm.
