Home made gym bags

How to make

Cut two rectangles of fabric measuring 40 x 30cm and one measuring 18 x 16cm for the pocket.

Press under and stitch a 2cm hem across top of pocket. Press under 1cm around remaining edges.

Pin pocket in centre, 7cm above lower edge of one bag piece. Stitch in place with one edge of name tape slipped under side of pocket.

With right sides of fabric together, pin and stitch two pieces together at sides starting and finishing 7cm away from top and bottom edges. Neaten side seam edges and press open. Press under 1cm then 3cm around top edge and stitch to form casing.

Cut a 2.6m length of chunky cord in half. Thread each piece through opposite sides of casing. Pin ends of cord to side edges of bag 1cm above lower edge.

Turn bag wrong side out. Pin and stitch remainder of side and lower edges together. Turn right side out and press.
