• 6:7:7:8:9:9:10 balls Deramores Vintage Chunky yarn (50% merino wool, 50% acrylic; 140m / 153yds per 100g ball) in Cobble (006) . Click here to buy the yarn from Deramores
• A pair of 6mm (UK4 / US10) knitting needles
• A pair of 5mm (UK6 / US8) knitting needles
• Yarn needle for sewing

Tension
14 sts and 19 rows over 10cm / 4in in stocking stitch on 6mm needles

Shape armholes
Cast off 6 (7:8:9:9:10:11) sts at beg of next 2 rows. 49 (51:53:55:59:61:63) sts
Dec 1 st at each end of next 3 (3:3:3:5:5:5) rows, then on 2 foll RS rows. 39 (41:43:45:45:47:49) sts
Cont straight in St st until Back measures same as Fronts to shoulder shaping, ending with a WS row.

Shape shoulders
Loosely cast off 5 sts at beg of next 2 rows, then 5 (5:6:6:6:6:7) sts at beg of foll 2 rows.
Cast off rem 19 (21:21:23:23:25:25) sts.

Armhole borders
Join both shoulder seams.
Using 5mm needles, with RS facing, pick up and K66 (72:76:82:84:90:94) sts evenly across armhole edge.
Work 2 rows in G-st.
Cast off knitwise.

Making up
Gently press all pieces on WS to measurements and according to ball band directions. Join side seams and armhole borders.

Finishing: waterfall border
Using 6mm needles, cast on 16 sts and K 1 row.
Work in patt as foll:
Row 1 (RS): K15 wrapping yarn round needle twice for every st, turn your work leaving 1 st unworked.
Row 2 (WS): Slip 1 dropping extra loop off (leaving an elongated st), K14 dropping extra loops off as you go.
Rows 3-4: K to end.
Row 5: K to end wrapping yarn round needle twice for every st.
Row 6: K to end dropping off extra loops as you go.
Rows 7-8: K to end.
These 8 rows form patt.
Cont in patt until shorter edge fits around outer edges of cardigan, easing on border around edge and ending with a row 7. This will be approx. 94 (96:98:102:104:106:110) reps of the patt.
Cast off loosely.
Commencing at centre of cast-on edge of Back, loosely tack, then stitch shorter edge of Waterfall Border around outer edge of waistcoat, easing on where necessary as you go.
Join cast-on and cast-off edges and gently press seams.
