Sew a simple drawstring kit bag: free sewing pattern
Follow this simple sewing pattern and make a pretty kit bag - ideal for selling at fêtes
Cut out two 46cm x 37cm rectangles of fabric.
With right sides facing, pin and stitch together at sides and lower edge, taking 1cm seam allowances and leaving a 3cm gap 4cm below top edge on one side. Neaten seam allowances and press them open. Turn right side out.
Press under 1cm, then 3cm around top edge of bag and stitch.
Thread a 90cm length of thick cord through the gap in the side seam and tie ends in a knot.
