Sew an embellished shopper: free sewing pattern
Give this pretty, practical bag as a gift or keep it for yourself
Enlarge template to make two flower sizes. Trace two large flowers and one small flower on to Bondaweb. Iron on to reverse of printed fabric and cut out.
Cut two 43cm x 36cm rectangles of fabric for bag. Iron flowers on front of bag. Zigzag stitch around flowers and sew a button to each.
Using six strands of embroidery thread, work running stitch for flower stems.
Stitch bag pieces together around outer edges and neaten seam allowances. Press under 1cm then 2.5cm around top of bag. Cut two 67cm x 7cm rectangles for handles. Press under 1cm on both long edges. Press in half lengthwise and stitch close to both edges. Slip ends under hem and stitch in place close to top and bottom of hem.
