Sew a cute glasses case: free sewing pattern

glasses case to sew

Enlarge the glasses template below to measure around 12cm long. Trace on to Bondaweb. Iron on to reverse of printed fabric and cut out.

Cut two 21cm x 11cm rectangles from plain fabric, two from polyester wadding, and two from printed fabric. Iron glasses on to one plain rectangle and zigzag stitch around edges. Tack small ribbon loop to top of other plain rectangle. Tack wadding to wrong side of these pieces. With right sides facing, stitch them together at sides and lower edge taking 1cm seam allowances. Turn right-side out.

Stitch lining pieces together at sides only. Slip lining over plain fabric with right sides facing, and stitch together around top edge. Pull lining upwards, sew lower edges together then push inside case. Sew button to front of case.

Linen fabric, Laura Ashley (0871 230 2301). Wadding, Bondaweb and button, John Lewis (0845 604 9049). Printed fabric, Liberty (020 7734 1234)
