Make funky hair scrunchies: free sewing pattern

Home made hair scrunchies

Make colourful hair scrunchies from oddments of fabric or recycle old garments in pretty prints.

Cut a strip of fabric 50cm x 10cm. Fold it in half lengthwise, with right sides together, and stitch along long edge. Turn right side out.

Thread a 20cm length of 6mm-wide elastic through and stitch to single fabric at each end of scrunchie.

Fold under 1cm around one end of scrunchie. Insert opposite end and stitch securely.
