You will need
● Oddments of cotton fabric and felt
● Matching sewing thread
● Black and coloured embroidery thread
● Polyester toy stuffing

To make
1. Enlarge template (below right) to 22cm tall and cut out.
2. Cut out two body pieces from printed fabric, two felt ears and one felt rectangle 14cm x 2.5cm for mane.
3. Tack felt mane to right side of one body pieces. With right sides facing, pin and stitch body pieces together around outer edge, taking 5mm seam allowance and leaving a gap for turning through. Stitch again for reinforcement.
4.
Trim seam allowances to 3mm, snipping at corners and curves, and turn right side out. Trim mane to 12mm deep and snip evenly along length to create a fringe. Fill with toy stuffing and sew up gap in stitching.
5. Stitch ears in place. Stitch French knots for eyes using black embroidery thread, and work a couple of stitches for mouth.
6. For tail, sew three lengths of embroidery thread through giraffe’s bottom, leaving six long ends. Plait double threads, knot ends and trim.

Fabric, Liberty. Embroidery thread and felt, Hobbycraft.
