Prima is delighted to host a Make & Take Theatre at the first ever Handmade Fair in Hampton Court Palace on 19-21 September 2014. Craft enthusiast Kirstie Allsopp has gathered the best experts to create a unique learning experience for those passionate about creating bespoke craft products. This fantastic day out will give everyone the opportunity to try a hands on craft workshop, listen to the grand masters of handmade products in the demo theatre, enjoy great food in the palace gardens and buy beautiful products from the handpicked sellers.

There are two ticket options to choose from, and all tickets to The Handmade Fair include the following:

Adult tickets cost £29. VIP tickets cost £95 and include afternoon tea with Kirstie, a glass of Champagne, red carpet entry, shop and drop and a goody bag worth over £40.

10.00-11.00 Create a Christmas Wreath with Craftwork Cards Join the fun with TV presenter Julie Hickey and make a fabulous Christmas Wreath to adorn your door. Julie will teach you how to curl and shape paper die-cut flowers. Suitable for beginners. Tutor: Julie Hickey

11.30-12.30 Hand Sew a Bow Tie Make a dapper and timeless neck adornment for yourself or a man in your life. Learn how to hand stitch effectively, and use professional finishing techniques for a really smart result. Tutor: Sophie Wire

1.00-2.00 Vintage Style Crochet Trims Shop bought gifts can become really personal with hook, yarn and a little magic! Adding a crocheted trim can really finish off a project. You will need to be able to crochet a little for this workshop. Tutor: Sophie Wire

2.30-3.30 Rag Rugs: Create your own Fabulous Soft Furnishings Join this class and learn how to make your own rag rugs, you will be taught ragrugging techniques whilst making a small sample, which will allow you to go home and create your own fabulous soft furnishings. Tutor: Lynne Sharpe of Blooming Felt

4.00-5.00 Make a Trio of Fabric Flowers Learn to turn fabric strips and squares into a trio of pretty flowers that can be used to brighten up bags, headbands or simply worn as colourful corsages. Tutor: Sophie Wire

Saturday 20 September

10.00-11.00 Stuffed Fabric letters Creating small, stuffed letters from bright fabrics which are very simply hand stitched, gives you lots of creative opportunities! Personalise your room with your name or make a statement, with stuffed letters on your mantelpiece or shelves. Tutor: Lady Sew & Sew Beth Sheard

11.30-12.30 Fabric Origami Window Hangings These beautiful little creations work well in any home and are a great way of recycling scraps of fabrics that are just too nice to throw away! They can be strung individually or as a group for maximum effect. The butterfly design is a simple series of folds and secured with a needle and thread. Tutor: Sandra Togher of Bowery Gallery

1.00-2.00 Needle Felting Beautiful Beads Join textile artist Lynne Sharpe of The Make It Room and learn the basics of needlefelting in this beginner’s class. Practise using a felting needle and wool roving to create some beautiful beads and shapes, discover how to add colour and patterns and how to use these shapes as ‘building blocks’ for other pieces. Tutor: Lynne Sharpe of Blooming Felt

2.30-3.30 Handy Little Concertina Notebooks Using a very easy bookbinding method you will choose from a fabulous selection of pattern papers to decorate your hard cover and produce an elegant book. Great as a notebook, sketchbook or photo album. Tutor: Sandra Togher of Bowery Gallery

4.00-5.00 Recover Fabric Lampshades You will be delighted with the results of this super simple drum lampshade. This workshop is a must for those looking to refresh their home on a limited budget. The method shown can be adapted to any size frame so you can recover your existing ones at home. Tutor: Sandra Togher of Bowery Gallery

Sunday 21 September

11.30-12.30 Block Print a Cotton Shopping Bag Use wooden printing blocks to design a unique piece of fabric, you will print on Julia’s hand-dyed and recycled fabrics using basic pattern theory and learn how to create depth by layering. Tutor: Julia Phillips
