Make painted heart mugs

painted heart mugs to make

Enlarge the heart template to the required size and cut out. Trace lightly around the edge of the heart with a lead pencil directly on to the mug.

Paint two or three thin coats of paint in your chosen colour, allowing each coat to dry. This gives a better paint coverage and prevents dripping that may occur with just one thick coat.

To prevent the paint dripping between coats, lie the mug on its side to dry.

When dry, bake the items in the oven at gas mark 2/150°C (140°C in a fan oven) for 35 mins, to make the paint dishwasher resistant.
