Win a sofa worth up to £2,500!

Last year we launched the House Beautiful range of handcrafted sofas with DFS, Britain’s leading sofa manufacturer. It’s been so successful that we’re busy designing new additions to the collection and two of our guest editors, Heidi Hemmings and Helen Hart, took part in a creative brainstorming session at the DFS Design Studio with DFS Design Director Philip Watkin and Marketing Consultant Janice Robson.

Now’s your chance to get involved and send in your own designs for the next addition to the range. Please construct a moodboard with pictures or sketches of the shape and style of the sofa you would like to see as well as any accessories – a matching footstool or chair, for example – samples of fabrics, ideas for colours and pictures of cushions and throws that might work with the look.

You need to choose a name for your new design – our current sofas are the Casa Mila and the Villa Savoye, inspired by the iconic designers Gaudi and Le Corbusier – but you don’t necessarily have to follow the same theme.

The shortlisted designs will be judged by a panel, which includes both Philip and Janice, House Beautiful Sales Director Laura Cohen and Editor Julia Goodwin. Two winning entries will be chosen and each winner will be eligible to receive a free House Beautiful DFS sofa, worth up to £2,500.

We may also put the winning entries into production, so you may get to see your creation in a DFS store near you!

HOW TO ENTER

Send your moodboard with pictures or sketches of your sofa and accessories, as well as fabrics, colour ideas and pictures of coordinating cushions and throws, along with your name, address and contact details to: Design a Sofa, DFS Competition, House Beautiful magazine, 72 Broadwick St, London W1F 9EP. We regret that entries cannot be returned. Two winners will be chosen after the closing date. Competition CLOSES 7 MAY 2013.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS Entry is open to UK residents over the age of 18. Only one entry per household. There are two prizes consisting of a maximum of £2,500 each worth of seating from any of the two House Beautiful ranges at DFS. Prizes are not returnable or refundable. Prize includes delivery but not disposal of the winners’ old sofas. Winners are responsible for ensuring the sofa will fi t into their property.
