Easter table setting ideas

Villeroy & Boch Easter plate
'When planning a table for Easter entertaining, think of it as a relaxed, informal, fun and playful event.

'I like to take long, fresh blossom branches and put them an over-sized glass vase. I fill the bottom of the vase with pretty painted eggs in soft spring tones - these are now readily available to buy on the high street but are so easy to make. You can also hang painted eggs off of each blossom branch to accentuate the spring season. Little chocolate eggs can be hung from the branches too.

'In terms of colours, think spring shades: yolky yellow, grass green, tulip orange, piglet pink. Use these colours in your table linens, runners and napkins if you don’t have china in these shades.

'My favourite quirky Easter table decoration is to use a strip of fake grass down the centre of my table or as placemats. And you can make it beautifully spring-like with small baskets of daffodil heads dotted down the fake grass strip or down centre of the table.

'If you use napkin rings, why not pop a fresh daffodil or tulip between the ring and the napkin - this is adds a lovely splash of colour, especially if you are using plain white of the tableware.

'An Easter egg hunt always adds a bit of fun to an Easter gathering. Why give write a clue on a luggage label - you can get very pretty pastel coloured ones to go with your spring theme. Wrap the label around each guest's cutlery. Or hang the luggage labels from the blossom branches on your table centrepiece. Happy Easter!'
