Decor advice: warm bathroom homestyle
Add softness, texture and warmth to your bathroom with these expert tips from designer Nick Munro
Q Our new bathroom and ensuite are both north facing and are decorated with turquoise and grey tiles. How can we introduce warmth to this scheme?
With that expanse of cool-toned tiles your space may feel chilly so you could take steps to add softness, texture and warmth.
Firstly, Id look at including some wooden items, from a duckboard to a towel ring to a loo seat perhaps combining oak with metal details as in one of my collections.
Secondly, Id look at the textiles from towels and shower curtains to the blind and the bath mat all comparatively large canvasses for you to work in some magical colour and a bit of non-linear shape.
Thirdly, how about a few colourful accessories, such as a loo brush or soap dish, to lift a space for not too much money? Id suggest trying a bit of stripe or a few items in coloured resin.
Then, finally, if youre prepared to spend a bit more, you could invest in some new wood-and-mirror wall cabinets to provide a mixture of warmth, glamour and, of course, some extra space.
