Decor advice: warm bathroom homestyle

Bathroom decor - Expert advice: how to get a warmer bathroom - Homes - allaboutyou.com

Q Our new bathroom and ensuite are both north facing and are decorated with turquoise and grey tiles. How can we introduce warmth to this scheme?

With that expanse of cool-toned tiles your space may feel chilly so you could take steps to add softness, texture and warmth.

Firstly, I’d look at including some wooden items, from a duckboard to a towel ring to a loo seat – perhaps combining oak with metal details as in one of my collections.

Secondly, I’d look at the textiles – from towels and shower curtains to the blind and the bath mat – all comparatively large canvasses for you to work in some magical colour and a bit of non-linear shape.

Thirdly, how about a few colourful accessories, such as a loo brush or soap dish, to lift a space for not too much money? I’d suggest trying a bit of stripe or a few items in coloured resin.

Then, finally, if you’re prepared to spend a bit more, you could invest in some new wood-and-mirror wall cabinets to provide a mixture of warmth, glamour and, of course, some extra space.
