Organic winter treat for skin

Organic facial review suti organic beauty products

If you can't eat it, you shouldn't put it on your skin. This is the philosophy behind the certified organic Suti brand and I'm standing in front of its founder Suzannah Jenkins, thinking guiltily of my chemical-rich bathroom shelf display. I do have some organic products. But I won't be eating any of the rest of it.

The main premise behind Suti beauty products is simple. Vitamin-rich and made from potent plant and flower extracts, they are created to feed the skin. And I'm about to have an intensive feeding session with a 90-minute Suti organic facial in London's Nutri Centre, Regent's Park. Free taster sessions are available every month at the centre, visit the Suti Facebook page to find out more.

A 90-minute organic facial with extremely nourishing products is a real treat in these winter months. Made from ingredients such as Shea butter, chamomile, calendula and avocado, products are naturally fragranced by rose essence, lavender, sandalwood and peppermint. And I'm indulged with not one, not two, but three separate face masks, with a massage to pass the time as each one does its work; first a hand and arm massage, next a shoulder and neck massage and finally a scalp massage. So not only is my skin rejuvenated by the rich oils and face masks, my muscles are stretched and invigorated as well. My feet have already been deeply cleansed with hot towels and slathered in foot balm and my calves have been rubbed with oil, so to call this treatment just a ' facial' seems like a bit of a misnomer.

The treatment is designed to stimulate circulation, optimise lymphatic drainage and rouse those pesky toxins from their hiding places to boot them out. Hence the use of massage, alongside deep cleansing products and nourishing creams. The massage also tightens my face muscles and leaves my skin looking smoother and less lined.

Crystals play a big part in the process, I held a quartz crystal in each hand through the treatment - crystals are also used in the making of the products. Quartz is known as the master healing crystal, as it contains the full spectrum of light and helps bring the body into balance.

My favourite products from the treatment were the organic facial oil for night (a blend of 15 ingredients, created for parched and mature skin), and the peppermint water that was sprayed over me as a quick pep-up before I took myself back onto the busy London streets. I needed the pep-up! I'd happily become a pampered mush of fragranced organic oils by the end - and my skin felt silky soft and smooth for the rest of the night and all of the next day.
