Amigurumi are a hot new trend: originating in Japan, they are cute little creatures. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words 'ami', meaning crocheted or knitted, and 'nuigurumi', meaning stuffed doll. What they all have in common is that they're small, and super-cute!

This little creature might look cross, but in reality he's as cuddly as a teddy bear. He's ideal for any little boy who secretly likes soft toys but wants something a bit more macho to play with.

Materials

● 100g Debbie Bliss Rialto Aran 100% merino wool (80m per 50g)
● 1 x 50g ball aqua (A)
● 1 x 50g ball lemon (B)
● 1 x 50g ball blue (C)
● 3.5mm crochet hook
● Black embroidery yarn
● Polyester stuffing
● Safety eyes or black beads

Round 2: 2dc into each st. 12 sts

Round 5: (2dc in next dc, dc in next 3 dc) rep around. 30 sts

Rounds 8-20: Dc around. 42 sts

Attach eyes, embroider mouth, stuff.

Round 23: (dc in next 3dc, dc2tog) rep around. 24 sts

Round 24: (dc in next 2dc, dc2tog) rep around. 18 sts

Round 25: (dc in next dc, dc2tog) rep around. 12 sts

Round 26: (dc2tog) rep around. 6 sts

Work 2 sts into 1 until hole closes.

Fasten off and sew in yarn tail.
