Make a paper kimono picture

Make a Japanese-style kimono picture - craft ideas - craft - allaboutyou.com

You will need...

● Picture frame
● A pair of small sharp scissors
● White backing card
● Several sheets of origami paper or wrapping paper with smallish ornate patterns,
● Glue
● Pencil

How to make it

Undo the back of the frame and take out the paper backing which is included in the frame as a template – this is your size guide for your frame.

Using the template, cut a piece of backing card that will fit into your frame.

Print out the kimono template below and cut along the lines so that your kimono is in pieces. Decide which of your patterned papers will form the main part of the kimono and using the larger pattern pieces, cut them out in decorative paper.

Cut out each pattern piece and lay them out on a piece of blank paper so you know they all fit together.

Find the middle of your piece of backing card and very lightly pencil in the main positioning of your kimono (that way you know you have it centrally placed).

Carefully glue all of the pieces onto the card. Let the glue dry.

Place in your frame and fix into place.
