Make a simple sock mouse
Recycle an odd sock to make an adorable sock mouse friend
You will need
• One child’s sock
• Oddments of felt, embroidery thread and knitting yarn
• Permanent black marker
• Clear-drying glue suitable for fabrics
• Polyester toy stuffing
How to make
1. Fill the sock just as far as the heel bend with polyester toy stuffing.
2. Cut a 25cm length of knitting yarn. Fold the top of the sock down to meet the heel and use the yarn to tie a secure knot around it. Trim the yarn to the desired mouse tail length.
3. Using the black marker, draw on the eyes and mouth.
4. Thread a needle with three strands of black embroidery thread and make a few small stitches to secure the threads just above the mouth, leaving long ends on both sides to form whiskers.
5. Cut two ears and a tiny triangle for a nose from felt. Glue in place with the nose covering the stitches securing the whiskers.
Tip: Not suitable for very small children because of the small bits!
