Turn a tray into a noticeboard

CL Turn a tray into a noticeboard - Home makes - Craft - allaboutyou.com

You will need

● Flower shapes cut from fabric
● Greaseproof paper
● PVA glue and brush
● Magnets (available from craft stores)
● Instant strong adhesive, eg Super Glue
● Thick woven tape
● Tin or enamel tray with a flat base

How to make

1. Place the fabric flowers right-side up on greaseproof paper and brush with a thick layer of PVA. Leave to dry – the glue becomes clear and causes the fabric to stiffen. Peel the shapes off the paper.

2. Ensure the magnets are free of grease, so they hold fast, then stick the flowers to them with instant adhesive.

3. Attach a loop of the tape to the back of the tray with the instant adhesive (take care not to stick your fingers to either).

4. Slip recipes, menus, pictures, notes, invitations and lists under the magnets, then hang the tray, using the tape, from a hook on the wall.

Tip: You could also use trimmings such as snippets of crochet, beads, ribbon, broken jewellery, shells and pebbles to decorate the magnets.
