Transform a trug

Trug sitting on table - Transform a trug - Craft - allaboutyou.com

You will need

● Traditional wooden trug
● Primer undercoat
● Eggshell paint
● Wooden hearts
● Glue gun
● 1m each of pink and green ribbon

To make

1. Apply a coat of oil-based primer undercoat all over the trug and leave to dry completely.

2. Apply one or two coats of eggshell paint as required to cover the trug completely and leave to dry, preferably overnight if the paint is oil-based.

3. Stick the hearts around the edge of the trug using the glue gun. If the trug is intended for outdoor use, you should weatherproof the hearts by varnishing them, and stick them on with strong wood glue.

4. Tie two lengths of ribbon to the base of each handle and make a bow. Trim the ends of the ribbon diagonally using scissors to prevent the ends fraying.
