Turn carrier bags into Christmas gift bags

You will need

• Paper carrier bags
• Printed papers
• Card (or ready-made plain tags)
• Ribbons
• Baker’s twine
• Double-sided tape
• Hole punch

How to make

For odd-shaped presents that are difficult to wrap, carrier bags are the answer. We used plain white bags and added rectangles of printed paper. Cut the patterned paper one or two centimetres smaller all round and use double-sided tape to stick to the front of the bag. Cut a gift tag from card, punch a hole, thread onto narrow ribbon or baker’s twine and tie around the bag’s handles.
Tip: Use opaque pens to show up on dark gift tags – they come in lots of colours, including white.
