We're loving BBC4's 'Fabric of Britain' series: documentaries designed to explore Britain's relationship with fabric, made in conjunction with the Victoria and Albert Museum. Vintage footage is combined with contributions from craft historians and other experts. Watch clips from the series here.

The first episode, 'Knitting's Golden Age', broadcast on September 18, looks at how knitting developed from a fabric used for underwear to the massive craft trend it is today.
