Volleyball - what a party! At today's Olympic's quarter-finals between Argentina and Brazil, USA and Italy, there was music, there was dancing, there was bongo drums. And a bit of volleyball. Boy, those men are tall
And so while Brazil and Italy go through to the men's volleyball semi-finals and Team GB continues on its record-breaking medal haul, the spirit of the Olympics roars on. The atmosphere was electric in Park Live at the Olympic stadium on Sunday night, as Usain Bolt inspired a fresh generation of young runners. I might even take it up myself.
I love the feeling of 'can do' the Olympics has launched. The woman who only took up rowing four years ago, taking gold with her partner last week. The 54-year-old showjumper who claimed a team gold medal despite a hip replacement, two knee operations and a broken neck. The 19-year old female boxer who took a rare gold medal for Ireland amid controversy over the introduction of women's boxing to the Games.
A comment on Twitter this week said 'Thanks to the Olympics, our tellies & papers are full of talented, determined, classy people rather than "celebrities". It's very nice indeed'. Isn't it just. And if you're on Twitter, join the @British_Airways support for @TeamGB #HomeAdvantage by including them in your Olympic tweets to create a very loud noise.
